Beginning Embroidery - Quilt Block in the Hoop

Fee: $60 (includes project kit with precut fabric, stabilizer, and batting)

Description: 

 You will learn how to:

•       Hoop your embroidery project;
•       Load an embroidery design;
•       Sew a quilt block in your embroidery hoop;
•       Sew the blocks together to make a mini-quilt. 

I will also briefly go over the different types of stabilizers and their uses.

You will leave this class with the ability to go home and create a quilt using the techniques you’ve learned.

Class Prep: 

•       Make sure your machine and embroidery unit are in working order

Supplies:

•       Embroidery Machine and user manual
•       At least a 5” x 7” hoop
•       USB drive for embroidery pattern
•       A gold color embroidery thread – NOT metallic
•       Bobbin thread (50 weight) – such as Bottom Line
•       Machine Needles – Size 80/12
•       Embroidery tape or blue painter’s tape
•       Scissors
•       Cutting board
•       Rotary cutter
•       Pins
•       Small iron (Clover Mini Iron works best)
•       Iron pad
