Class Description
:

Day 1&2: Take a Stand Tote - With this by Annie pattern, create a tote that opens wide for easy access to contents. The tote features an adjustable, detachable carrying strap plus inner and outer zippered pockets.

Day 2&3: Running with Scissors Tool Case - This handy Tool Case has a variety of easy-to-access pockets in vinyl, mesh, and quilted fabric and can be customized to fit the tools you use and love.

Order
 Project Supplies here by April 30th to ensure arrival before class. Honey Bee will apply a 15% discount on class supplies when we complete your order. 


Class Supplies:

  •       Working sewing machine with a ¼” foot, zipper foot, walking foot
  •       Needles 80/12 and 90/14
  •       Rotary cutter, mat, rulers
  •       Scissors, large and small
  •       Pins, fine and flat head
  •       Wonder clips – a must, at least 30
  •       Wash-out marking pen or pencil, (test on fabric before marking entire project)
  •       Sharp Stiletto
  •       Double-sided basting tape, optional, helps to attach zippers and binding for mesh pockets.


Take a Stand Homework
MUST BE DONE BEFORE CLASS!
  •       Use labels provided on pg. 9, making a copy so you can reuse this information again.  Cut the sizes listed on the labels for the small tote.
  •       Quilt sets A & B – quilt as you want – see pattern, pg. 2 (use main fabric, lining, double-sided fusible Bosal**)
  •       Cut all coordinating fabric, see pg. 2
  •       Cut fusible interfacing, see pg. 2
  •       Cut mesh pockets, see pg. 2 be careful not to stretch
  •       Cut strapping, see pg. 2
  •       Cut fold over elastic, see pg. 2
  •       Cut quilted fabric and seal as instructed in section C, page 2
  •       Prepare Bias Binding and sew strips together
  •       Prepare straps, see pg. 3, I’ll help you with the slider if needed.

 

Running With Scissors Homework
MUST BE DONE BEFORE CLASS!

  •       Use labels provided on page 11, make a copy so you can re-use this information again.
  •       Quilt sets A & B – quilt as you want - see pattern, pg. 2 (use main fabric, lining, double-sided fusible Bosal**)
  •       Cut all coordinating fabric, see pg. 2
  •       Cut fusible interfacing, see pg. 2
  •       Cut mesh pockets, see pg. 2 be careful not to stretch
  •       Cut vinyl, see pg. 2
  •       Cut strapping, see pg. 2
  •       Cut fold over elastic, see pg. 2
  •       Cut quilted fabric and seal as instructed in section c, page 2
  •       Prepare Bias Binding and sew strips together

 

**When using double-sided fusible Bosal, place lining then Bosal then main fabric, lightly fuse making sure there are no wrinkles in the fabric.  You can also use parchment paper on the bottom of the Bosal, attach the main fabric and then flip over, remove the parchment paper and attach the lining.  Using steam will help this process.  Do not iron directly on the Bosal, it will melt.
