Longarm Training with Sandy Rindlesbach

July 11-12  or July 14-15             9:30 - 4:30

Have you ever wanted to see what long arm quilting is all about?  Want to get your hands on a Handi Quilter Amara & Pro-Stitcher and take a test drive? This is the time. We are bringing in a Handi Quilter National Educator Sandy Rindlesbach to teach a 2 day long arm quilting class and you will get to try out everything there is. The best part, you are part of the action, doing everything in a hands-on classroom setup with Handi Quilter Amara machines with Pro-Stitchers.

This two-day class will teach you all the possibilities of a longarm machine and is best suited for those who do not own a machine, or maybe have rented or are just exploring longarm quilting. Class fee includes lunch, snacks, and all class supplies.

Day one starts with Long Arm Basics.  This class will teach you all you need to know about Handi Quilter long arms including upkeep, loading the frame, threading the machine, and tension.

Day one ends with Free Motion quilting.  Learn how to drive the machine yourself, stitching out designs as we progress through the class.  Learn tricks to improve your skills and have fun in a relaxed learning atmosphere.  People leave this class with confidence in their own skills and ready to tackle any project.

Day two starts off using the Pro-Stitcher (automated quilting).  Many people think the Pro-Stitcher just does edge-to-edge designs, but it does so much more!  Sandy will run you through the program and show you what it's all about.  Get basic knowledge of the program and understand how and why functions work the way they do.  You will be able to jump right in and have the basic knowledge to custom quilt, with a little more practice.

Day two ends with Rulers.  Get working knowledge of how to use rulers safely and successfully.  You will learn how to use all types of rulers including straight lines, curves, and circles.

We hope you will join us and let us show you how fun the long arm can be!

Instructor Bio: Sandy loves all things fabric, especially all forms of longarm quilting. She started her needle arts journey in her childhood; learning knitting, crochet, needlepoint, cross-stitched and garment sewing. Growing up in the very center of Utah, she participated in opportunities available to improve these skills, entering county and state fairs and receiving blue ribbons. She can't remember a time when sewing and needle arts was not a part of her life. Purchasing a HQ Fusion? in 2010, Sandy began her longarm journey. She spent many years doing free-motion and ruler work before purchasing a HQ Forte? with Pro-Stitcher?. Sandy enjoys the freedom to be able to use free-motion, ruler and Pro-Stitcher on her quilts. Most of her quilts use all of these methods. Sandy especially loves feathers and enjoys teaching feather classes. In addition to quilting, she has made many Cosplay costumes for her family. Sandy has won quilt awards including First Place Wall Hanging at HMQS and Best of Show at Utah State Fair Challenge Contest. When not quilting, Sandy hand-dyes her own fabric. Frequently, the backings of her quilts have been hand-dyed to coordinate with the top. She loves playing with color and anything quilt related. Sandy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University. Prior to becoming a National Educator for HandiQuilter, Sandy was a Communications Consultant/Project Manager for an international Payroll and Benefits company. She lives in West Jordan, Utah and is blessed with 4 brilliant children and 2 outstanding grandchildren.
