Bound & Labeled: BYOQ (Bring Your Own Quilt)

Tuesday, January 17 or February 21, 1:00 - 4:00 pm

Bind your own quilt with tips from Nancie. She’ll guide you through all the steps, including the final stitching by hand or machine.

Supplies for class:

  • A fully quilted quilt, untrimmed (Baby or throw-size is recommended.)
  • Binding strips, cut but not joined—see below
  • Thread and filled bobbin
  • Straight pins
  • Wonder Clips
  • Rotary cutter and short ruler
  • Sewing machine in good working order, including:
    • All purpose foot
    • Walking foot
    • Machine needle, size 90/14
    • Extension table if you have it

Before coming to class:

  • Cut binding fabric into 2.5” strips, across the width of fabric.
  • How many strips? Divide the perimeter of the quilt by 40 and round up to the nearest whole number. This is the number of WoF strips needed for your quilt.
  • Do not cut off the selvages.
  • Do not sew the strips together.

Plan to Arrive 15 minutes early to set up.
