HQ Long Arm Rental

Honey Bee offers a long arm rental program to expand the community of quilters that love Long Arming as much as we do. Our goal is to provide everyone with the best possible experience learning and using the Handi Quilter Long Arm machine.

2023 RENTAL POLICY 

1. The daily rental fee is $150.
2. A non-refundable $50 Reservation Fee is due to secure reservation. The Fee is transferable if a date change is completed at least 7 days before the booked date. 
3. Rental time is from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. At 4:30 pm, your quilt should be off the machine so that we can clean and maintain the equipment and area for the next day. If you need to extend your rental time past 4:30 to perform minor finishing, there is a $25 charge up to 5:00 pm. After that, we ask that you schedule to complete on another day. Please, no early birds.
4. Limit to one machine for customer.
5. A selection of Magnifico Thread is included in the rental fee. Additional colors available for purchase separately. 
6. Reservation Fee is not transferable if less than 7 days from rental day.

• Plan to bring several quilt tops to make good use of your time.
• Check for loose seams, square-up, and press your quilt top and backing for best results.
• Quilt backs should measure 4-5 inches larger than your quilt top on all sides.
• Quilt Batting should measure 2-3 inches larger than the quilt top. A wide variety of batting is available for purchase.
• We have many quilt patterns available on the Pro-Stitcher. You are welcome to visit the store before Quilting Day to select patterns and thread color.
• So that you can hit the ground running, we will load the quilt on the frame the night before for a fee of $15. Please drop off your quilt by 4 pm the day before.

• The amount completed each day will vary based on preparation, quilt size, pattern complexity/density, and quilting proficiency.
• We recommend loading your big quilt first and using it to gauge how much is possible during the day.
• The Honey Bee Associate will teach and guide you on the proper use of the Long Arm machine as you create your quilt. Quilters will load, configure, and monitor the Long Arm throughout the day, improving your knowledge and skills with each step.
• Please be patient when there are more quilters than Honey Bee Associates.
• You are welcome to bring lunch. There is a refrigerator for your use, and bottled water is complimentary.
• Arrive as early as 9:30 am. Knock on the door if before 10 am and we will let you in to start quilting. No early birds, please.
