Class Registration Policy

 

  • Register for classes online, by phone, or at the store.
  • Class fees and rental deposit must be paid in full to ensure your place.
  • Registration fees do not count toward rewards.
  • Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel, we require 7 days notice in order for you to receive your class fee back. Handi Quilter deposits are not transferable if less than 7 days from rental day.

In-Store Classes


Join us at the Open House each semester. Open House is an opportunity to learn about upcoming offerings, meet the teacher, and learn what classes are best for you. Attendees receive priority for registering for the classes. Online registration is open the following day. Register for Open House, and you will receive an email and text a day before the event. We hope to see you there!

The 2023 5@the Hive is a 10-month block of the month program starting in February 2023 where you pay a $15.00 Registration Fee and $5 for and the February Block at sign up. The regular blocks are 12" finished. Extra Blocks, if you choose to do them, are $10.00 each, including tax. The Extra Blocks, over the 10 months, will be the 12" block borders and miscellaneous pieced blocks to fill in around the 12" blocks.

Open Sew: Come join us in our classroom for some friendly, fearless, and fun stitching happiness! This is an unstructured opportunity to invite your friends or come alone bring your own project and socialize at the same time.

Patriotic Quilters meet the 4th Tuesday of each month. We make quilts for Heroes Night Out, VFW, and American Legion soldiers. We mostly do Red/White/Blue quilts, but do make others for the women soldiers and kids. This is purely charity sewing, so bring your machine and rulers, pattern and fabric (some fabric can be provided if needed). There is a cutting and pressing station at the store. Everyone is welcome, come and join us. Generally 10 am - 3 pm.

The Scrappy Quilt Club meets on the first Saturday of each month. Collaborate with other quilters and form ideas about using your fabric scraps? Learn new ways to use and store your scraps and where to get new ideas. Each month will feature a different technique/procedure. Club meetings will be discussion/lecture only, no sewing. And you are encouraged to bring your scrappy quilts for show and tell. REGISTER TO RECEIVE MONTHLY REMINDERS

Quiltmakers fall into two basic camps ? they either love appliqu? ? or they don?t! For many the process of needle turn appliqu? is a joy and a pleasure. For others ? it?s that 4-letter word thing that chases them away from appliqu? ? HAND! For others, the tracing and cutting and fusing and cutting? OY! It?s just too much work! Join me and learn how easy it is to use your Accuquilt Cutting Machine and your Regular OR Embroidery Sewing Machine to create perfect embroidery! No hand sewing! No Tracing! Just fast, fun and relatively quick machine appliqu

In this class you will learn how to: - Hoop your embroidery project - Load an embroidery design - Sew a quilt block in your embroidery hoop - Sew the blocks together to make a mini-quilt

In this class you will be given the opportunity to create a simple Rail Fence quilt from start to finish. You will learn how to use different quilting tools including a rotary cutter and ruler to accurately cut your fabric. You will learn how to sew accurate 1/4 inch seams, the importance of pressing your fabric before and during the construction of your quilt top. In the third session I will show you how to pin baste, machine quilt and bind your quilt.

Design your own quilt around this block (9?, 10? or 12?) and its variations. Nancie assists with math, color and construction, while offering time-saving tips along the way. The class meets once a month for three months.

Just in time for Christmas!!! In this class, you will learn an easy way to construct and create a one-of-a-kind stocking and make some fun Christmas ornaments. These are great for that unexpected guest for Christmas or who need a few ornaments for gifts. Christmas is in the air, come join the fun. Be sure to bring your lunch!

In the EQ8 Basics class you will learn how to: - Differentiate the 3 worktables: Quilt, Block, and Image - Work in the Quilt and Block worktables - Use the toolbars, tabs, and design bars in the Quilt and Block worktables - Design quilts and blocks - Print designs, templates, and rotary cutting instructions - Get fabric yardage for your quilt design You will leave this class with the ability to go home and create unlimited quilts and blocks with ease.

This class will teach you how to fold a pentagon of stiffened fabric into a 5-pointed star ornament. The provided kit will include instructions, practice paper, fabric to construct 3 stars and hanger materials. This is a great project for last minute gifts for friends, family, and co-workers.

Learn techniques that will make paper piecing enjoyable and understandable. You will become familiar with the terms and how to figure out other patterns on your own. You will complete at least one block in class.

Take the fear out of creating a collage! I will work with you through the process of fabric selection, piecing, working with steam A Seam II, and building your design and how to finish your masterpiece.

Want to explore the modern quilt world? This is a fun class with no rules, freedom from perfection, play with color and create something outside the box! Use those fabric scraps! It is a great way to take traditional blocks and made them modern! We will use scraps...I hope you all have some! It is a very creative class. Come and play!

Make your own custom rug, 100% cotton, fully washable to match your d?cor. After making your first rug, you will want to make more! This is a very addictive project, great gift idea and a fun new craft to add to your repertoire!!!

You will learn the techniques of Stitch and Flip, how to sew Partial Seams, and how to create a border from leftover pieces. This class is for Confident Beginners and Intermediate.

In this Seminole Piecing Workshop we will be creating at least 5 different Seminole strip sets in class.

Join us for a fun day for a Stripology class. We will be learning how to use the XL Stripology ruler to cut your prep time in half so you can enjoy more time sewing. We will be doing the Zoe pattern from the Stripology Mixology 3 book. This pattern lends itself to much creativity in the placement of the blocks for endless opportunities for unique quilt patterns! This is an intermediate class and you will need a fully functioning machine, full familiarity with how to use the machine and be able to sew clean ?? seams.

This is a great jacket for those cool evenings. Choose a couple of your favorite fabrics and create your own one of a kind statement jacket. Note: there will be prep work prior to class, quilting the fabric, etc. [I am timing all steps in my jkt to see what other steps may be needed to be done at home prior to class] (I Shd have my sample done this nex wk!)
