Class Registration Policy

 

  • Register for classes online, by phone, or at the store.
  • Class fees and rental deposit must be paid in full to ensure your place.
  • If you receive an email indicating that your Class Registration Order has shipped, it's a standard notification, not an actual shipment. It signifies that your purchase is ready for pick-up or confirms class enrollment.
  • Cancellation Policy: A refund for your class fee requires a cancellation notice at least 7 days prior to the scheduled date. Longarm rental deposits cannot be transferred if cancellation occurs within 7 days of the rental day.

If you’d like to learn how to make a compact, functional bag, this class is for you. The bag includes multiple pockets, including a deep back pocket for a phone, boarding pass, or glasses, and a flap that hides a zipper closure. It also has an adjustable, detachable strap that can be covered with fabric or made with designer strapping. In this course, you’ll learn to work with vinyl, install zippers and magnets, and add binding to a bag.

We will make our own original unique landscape, following a process found in the book by Karen Eckmeier, Accidental Landscapes.

New York Beauty blocks are about points (spires) and arcs. The construction utilizes two quilting techniques: foundation piecing and sewing curves. You are welcome to bring and use any New York Beauty book or pattern that you have. Don’t have a book? Dazzling New York Beauty Sampler, sold at Honey Bee, offers a wide range of blocks to explore.

Protect and carry your Singer 221/222 Featherweight (or other small sewing machine) in this sturdy, padded bag. The wide zippered opening provides easy access to the machine and supplies. This is an open sew day for the beginning quilters class to come into the shop and spend the day quilting and finishing up their beginning quilt project. An instructor will be present to assist you as you work through the construction of your quilt.

In this class we will be making a Nine-Patch quilt top from start to finish. The quilt also includes a Nine-Patch Variation block. Both are classic blocks used in many quilts. You will learn to use different quilt making tools including a rotary cutter and ruler to cut your fabric accurately. You will learn how to sew accurate ¼” seams and important pressing techniques.

This block is traditionally made in two colors, but modern prints can transform it. Scraps can also be used. Whatever size and style you desire, Nancie will help you design your personal quilt.

English Paper Piecing (EPP) is a hand sewing method of slow stitching that starts with a geometric shape of paper covered in fabric, the shapes are then stitched together to form a design. Work on any project of your choosing. Supplies are available in the shop. Beginner to Advanced quilters welcome.

It is possible to do beautiful quilting on your domestic sewing machine! In this class, you will learn the basics of free-motion quilting, including how to get started, the most common problems, and a few easy patterns. Must have experience quilting a quilt on a domestic sewing machine, even if only in straight lines.

This hands-on workshop introduces students to the art and creative technique of fabric collage quilting. Students will explore how to use color and texture and build textile creations. Students will learn how to select fabrics, create layers in their design, and quilt it. The workshop covers skills, such as value and color planning, and how to use Steam a Seam II. Each student will gain confidence in both artistic decision-making and technical execution. Come and create your own masterpiece. Your choice of pattern is included.

Forget everything you know about making a Lone Star quilt. The QuiltSmart foundation method simplifies the construction of this challenging star design with no angles to measure and no templates. In this class you will construct the traditional star using a JellyRoll or 2 ½” strips. Recommended for Intermediate to Advanced Quilters.

September 16-17: Are you ready to turn your Pro-Stitcher into your most powerful quilting partner? This two-day in-depth course is designed for users who want to fully understand and unlock the incredible capabilities of the Pro-Stitcher system. Whether you’re using Pro-Stitcher for personal enjoyment or as a tool in your quilting business, this course will help you build confidence, creativity, and control.

Patriotic Quilters meet the 4th Tuesday of each month. We make quilts for Heroes Night Out, VFW, and American Legion soldiers. We mostly do Red/White/Blue quilts, but do make others for the women soldiers and kids. This is purely charity sewing, so bring your machine and rulers, pattern and fabric (some fabric can be provided if needed). There is a cutting and pressing station at the store. Everyone is welcome, come and join us. Generally 10 am - 3 pm.

***SCRAPPY CLUB IS ON HOLD - PLEASE CHECK BACK*** The Scrappy Quilt Club meets on the first Saturday of each month. Collaborate with other quilters and form ideas about using your fabric scraps? Learn new ways to use and store your scraps and where to get new ideas. Each month will feature a different technique/procedure. Club meetings will be discussion/lecture only, no sewing. And you are encouraged to bring your scrappy quilts for show and tell. REGISTER TO RECEIVE MONTHLY REMINDERS
