Class Registration Policy

 

  • Register for classes online, by phone, or at the store.
  • Class fees and rental deposit must be paid in full to ensure your place.
  • If you receive an email indicating that your Class Registration Order has shipped, it's a standard notification, not an actual shipment. It signifies that your purchase is ready for pick-up or confirms class enrollment.
  • Cancellation Policy: A refund for your class fee requires a cancellation notice at least 7 days prior to the scheduled date. Longarm rental deposits cannot be transferred if cancellation occurs within 7 days of the rental day.

Reserve a Handi Quilter Long Arm with Pro-Stitcher for the day! The daily rental rate is $165, and a non-refundable $65 Reservation Fee is due to secure reservation. The Fee is transferable if a date change is completed at least 7 days before the booked date.

ICE Colorway - The 2024 5@the Hive SPEED SEWING is a 6-month block of the month program with 2 regular blocks per month, where you pay $15 per colorway when you sign-up. The regular blocks are 12" finished. Extra Blocks, if you choose to do them, are $7.50 each, including tax. The Extra Blocks, over the 6 months, will be the 12" block borders and miscellaneous pieced blocks to fill in around the 12" blocks.

Accuquilt Applique Classes - I will introduce/instruct a different Applique Technique in each class - using your Accuquilt Cutting Machine to create your Applique Shapes. You can choose to replicate one of my samples - or you can choose your own Applique Design for your quilt. The class will focus on the TECHNIQUE as you create your quilt. Small wall quilts or even Placemats might be a great thing to start with as you build your repertoire of Applique Techniques. This club usually meets on Even numbered months. (Feb, Apr, etc.). Come join us for a free club to learn all about using the Accuquilt system! Each month we will explore new ways to utilize your strip dies, cube systems and Block on Boards (BOB dies). This club meets on Odd numbered months. (Jan, Mar, May, etc.). The Accuquilt Club for Embroidery meets on Even numbered months.

Come join this fun class where you will learn how to combine your Accuquilt cubes to create a fun and interesting pattern. In class we will be cutting out and sewing three blocks out of the nine you will need for the complete quilt.

Join me in making this beautiful foundation paper pieced quilt. One block that you make multiple times ? then add setting blocks and sashings and you?ve got a fun lap-sized quilt. The finished quilt is 66? x 73?. This is a perfect stash-busting quilt ? or grab a favorite Fat Quarter bundle or Layer Cake. There are 20 Stars ? and you can use a different fabric for each or repeat if you prefer. Add to it the 30 diamonds and you are well on your way to a finished quilt.

In this class, you will be given the opportunity to create a simple Rail Fence quilt top from start to finish. You will learn to use different quilting tools including a rotary cutter and ruler to cut your fabric accurately. You will learn how to sew accurate 1/4? seams, and the importance of pressing your fabric before and during the construction of your quilt top.

This is an open sew day for the beginning quilter to come into the shop and spend the day quilting in a community environment. An instructor will be present to assist you as you work through the constructions of one or more of your beginning quilting projects.

Design your own quilt around this simple block, any size, any shape. Nancie will assist with the math, colors and construction, while offering time-saving tips along the way. The class meets once a month for three months.

Two-day workshop in the basics of crazy quilting with a modern twist. In this workshop you will create a square using foundation piecing using cotton fabrics! Then we embellish the square using embroidery stitches, beading, lace, ribbons, buttons, charms, broken jewelry, etc. Create a one-of-a-kind piece of textile art! Take the fear out of creating a collage! I will work with you through the process of fabric selection, piecing, working with Steam A Seam II, building your design and how to finish your masterpiece. In this class the pattern is included and provided when you get to class. You will have your choice of several designs. I will show you how to make it your own! It will be a fun creative class! Want to explore the modern quilt world? This is a fun class with no rules, freedom from perfection, play with color and create something outside the box! Use those fabric scraps! It is a great way to take traditional blocks and made them modern! We will use scraps...I hope you all have some! It is a very creative class. Come and play!

Join us at the Open House each semester. Open House is an opportunity to learn about upcoming offerings, meet the teacher, and learn what classes are best for you. Attendees receive priority for registering for the classes. Online registration is open the following day. Register for Open House, and you will receive an email and a text the day before the event. Patriotic Quilters meet the 4th Tuesday of each month. We make quilts for Heroes Night Out, VFW, and American Legion soldiers. We mostly do Red/White/Blue quilts, but do make others for the women soldiers and kids. This is purely charity sewing, so bring your machine and rulers, pattern and fabric (some fabric can be provided if needed). There is a cutting and pressing station at the store. Everyone is welcome, come and join us. Generally 10 am - 3 pm.

Join me as I am Paper Piecing small blocks for a border. I'm using free block patterns I downloaded 10-11 years ago. I'm glad I hung on to them! Bring your own paper piecing projects. I'll help you as needed so bring in that old project you want to finish.

The Scrappy Quilt Club meets on the first Saturday of each month. Collaborate with other quilters and form ideas about using your fabric scraps? Learn new ways to use and store your scraps and where to get new ideas. Each month will feature a different technique/procedure. Club meetings will be discussion/lecture only, no sewing. And you are encouraged to bring your scrappy quilts for show and tell. REGISTER TO RECEIVE MONTHLY REMINDERS

Join us for a fun day for a Stripology class. We will be learning how to use the XL Stripology ruler to cut your prep time in half so you can enjoy more time sewing. We will be doing the Zoe pattern from the Stripology Mixology 3 book. This pattern lends itself to much creativity in the placement of the blocks for endless opportunities for unique quilt patterns! This is an intermediate class and you will need a fully functioning machine, full familiarity with how to use the machine and sew clean ?? seams.

Create a tote bag. This is a large tote bag that has a multitude of uses. You don't have to be afraid of this project because there are no zippers or pockets. This is a great tote to start learning the basic bag making skills.

Simple Whatnots Club 13, produced by Kim Diehl, includes 8 fun to stitch small quilts. Project sizes are typically 40" square or smaller. These patterns are approachable and easy to finish with clear, concise directions that also provide tips tricks, and quilt advise. The club will start in February and go through September.
