Class Registration Policy

 

  • Register for classes online, by phone, or at the store.
  • Class fees and rental deposit must be paid in full to ensure your place.
  • Registration fees do not count toward rewards.
  • Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel, we require 7 days notice in order for you to receive your class fee back. Handi Quilter deposits are not transferable if less than 7 days from rental day.

In-Store Classes


A simple bag easy to make and useful for shopping, overnights, school, gifts, etc. Without batting or interfacing it is easy to fold and carry in your purse.

I will show you techniques to make paper piecing understandable and help you understand patterns more easily. Soon you will be on your way to making those perfect blocks through paper piecing.

Take the fear out of creating a collage! I will work with you through the process of fabric selection, piecing, working with steam A Seam II, and building your design and how to finish your masterpiece.

This is a monthly club for students to learn or improve their hand embroidery skills. They may choose to work with any medium they choose...wool, cotton, etc. CrabApple Hill Designs has beautiful designs which incorporate coloring the fabric with either crayons or colored pencils.

Want to explore the modern quilt world? This is a fun class with no rules, freedom from perfection, play with color and create something outside the box!

Learn to make your very own rope bowl! Rope bowls make a thoughtful gift and are useful around the house! Make 2 bowls with The Foxes Tail American made cotton rope. The first bowl will teach you the technique and the next bowl you will be able to add your own design with colorful fabric scraps.

Kid friendly. Learn or brush up on how to sew! In this class we will go over machine basics, how to thread, stitch, and maintain your machine. Use your new skills to make a pillow case! Gain confidence with your machine to tackle all the sewing projects! Ages 8 and up are welcome.

This is an open sew day that the students can bring any Quiltworx pattern to class and receive assistance from the instructor to complete. Minimum Students: 3 Maximum Students: 10

This pattern has sufficient papers for you to construct up to 6 bear claw blocks. These can be joined to make a table runner or finishes separately to make a pillow. Or you can use as many of the blocks as you wish to make a wall-hanging or small quilt.

This pattern is designed for beginning paper piecing and uses strip piecing to construct a Lone Star center. A Plain background finishes at 32 x 32 for a baby size quilt. You have the option to add another border to finish at 40 x 40. All the necessary cutting and sewing papers are included in the pattern and you have enough papers to make two quilts from this one pattern. This pattern will introduce you to several Quiltworx techniques, but all the seams are straight, there are no Y-seams or curved piecing. The result is an adorable miniature Lone Star block/wall-hanging for you to enjoy.

The TU Sophomore year is a continuation of learning Studio 180 Design skills. In the first semester, students will expand their skill level with tools they purchased during Freshman year. They will need to purchase 2 new tools, The Hunters Star and the Four Patch Square Up. The second semester will be focused on each student designing their own quilt top, whether it be traditional or modern, all the way through the binding. Thus, students will be encouraged to have a finished project in the end.

Students will be given an opportunity to create a lap size quilt top. They will learn the basic terminology of quilting tools/supplies, how to use a rotary cutter, how to read an acrylic ruler, make Half Square Triangle blocks and 9-Patch blocks, and match seams as they sew their quilt blocks together into a lap size quilt
