Class Registration Policy

 

  • Register for classes online, by phone, or at the store.
  • Class fees and rental deposit must be paid in full to ensure your place.
  • Registration fees do not count toward rewards.
  • Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel, we require 7 days notice in order for you to receive your class fee back. Handi Quilter deposits are not transferable if less than 7 days from rental day.

Reserve a Handi Quilter Long Arm with Pro-Stitcher for the day! The daily rental rate is $150, and a non-refundable $50 Reservation Fee is due to secure reservation. The Fee is transferable if a date change is completed at least 7 days before the booked date.

Long Arm Club meets the 4th Tuesday of each month.

Have you ever wanted to see what long arm quilting is all about? Want to get your hands on a Handi Quilter Amara & Pro-Stitcher and take a test drive? This is the time. We are bringing in a Handi Quilter National Educator Sandy Rindlesbach to teach long arm quilting and you will get to try out everything there is. The best part, you are part of the action, doing everything in a hands-on classroom setup with Handi Quilter Amara machines with Pro-Stitchers.

Thursday, July 13th 9:30 - 4:30 Dive into Pro-stitcher with this hands-on longarm class with Handi Quilter National Educator Sandy Rindlesbach. She will show you the features of the program and you will get to apply what you learn in this hands-on class. This class is great for both new and experienced users!

Please join us for a meet the teacher event when Honey Bee unveils class offerings each Tri-mester. Attend Open House and be the first to sign-up for new class offerings. The 2023 5@the Hive is a 10-month block of the month program starting in February 2023 where you pay a $15.00 Registration Fee and $5 for and the February Block at sign up. The regular blocks are 12" finished. Extra Blocks, if you choose to do them, are $10.00 each, including tax. The Extra Blocks, over the 10 months, will be the 12" block borders and miscellaneous pieced blocks to fill in around the 12" blocks.

In this class you will be given the opportunity to create a simple Rail Fence quilt from start to finish. You will learn how to use different quilting tools including a rotary cutter and ruler to accurately cut your fabric. You will learn how to sew accurate 1/4 inch seams, the importance of pressing your fabric before and during the construction of your quilt top. In the third session I will show you how to pin baste, machine quilt and bind your quilt.

Design a large or small quilt from this easy butterfly block, made with a Charm Pack or your own fabrics. Nancie assists with math, color palette, and all aspects of construction during 12 class hours.

Bind your own quilt with tips from Nancie. She'll guide you through all the steps, including the final stitching by hand or machine.

In this class you will complete 2 of the 5 pouches in this pattern. You will be shown how to add a binding to give your pouches a special look, and how to install a By Annie zipper.

You will learn techniques that will make paper piecing enjoyable and understandable. You will become familiar with the terms and how to figure out other patterns on your own. You will complete at least one block in class.

Take the fear out of creating a collage! I will work with you through the process of fabric selection, piecing, working with steam A Seam II, and building your design and how to finish your masterpiece.

Want to explore the modern quilt world? This is a fun class with no rules, freedom from perfection, play with color and create something outside the box! Use those fabric scraps! It is a great way to take traditional blocks and made them modern! We will use scraps...I hope you all have some! It is a very creative class. Come and play!

Patriotic Quilters meet the 4th Tuesday of each month. We make quilts for Heroes Night Out, VFW, and American Legion soldiers. We mostly do Red/White/Blue quilts, but do make others for the women soldiers and kids. This is purely charity sewing, so bring your machine and rulers, pattern and fabric (some fabric can be provided if needed). There is a cutting and pressing station at the store. Everyone is welcome, come and join us. Generally 10 am - 3 pm.

The Scrappy Quilt Club meets on the first Saturday of each month. Collaborate with other quilters and form ideas about using your fabric scraps? Learn new ways to use and store your scraps and where to get new ideas. Each month will feature a different technique/procedure. Club meetings will be discussion/lecture only, no sewing. And you are encouraged to bring your scrappy quilts for show and tell. REGISTER TO RECEIVE MONTHLY REMINDERS

One fabric, stacked and cut randomly, turns into a dozen fascinating kaleidoscopic blocks! Nancie shares her unique setting for these blocks, as well as tips to make construction easier.

You will learn the techniques of Stitch and Flip, how to sew Partial Seams, and how to create a border from leftover pieces. This class is for Confident Beginners and Intermediate.

Summer sewing lessons for kids 10-15. First session is Get to know the sewing machine and sew a stuffed animal. Second session is making a pillowcase.

This newer pattern by Quiltworx is a fast, fun bed sized quilt! Perfect for first time "Judy Quilt" makers or those who just love the magic of her patterns and techniques! Quilt finishes at 96 in x 96 in but goes together so, so quickly!
